We made the trip to the state capital to see the Gamecocks kick off 2022 against Georgia State.
After seeing all of the delicious pictures Tami (@tstra44) and JFrew (@CockyTexan77) posted from The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, I knew that would be our breakfast spot before heading back to the upstate.
I was hurting a little bit from the tailgate and celebration, getting old will do that to you. When we pulled up and saw the line out of the door, I really wasn't feeling up for it, but I'm definitely glad I stuck it out.
My wife wanted the BLT and when I told the cashier and she asked if I wanted it with something or the Roasted Garlic Spread. I didn't even have to ask, I knew instantly she wanted the Roasted Garlic Spread added it. I know my wife, and I know that my wife likes garlic on top of her garlic. This was a no-brainer for me.
Since I wasn't feeling too great, I didn't want anything with a whole lot of flavors added on top, so I just ordered the original Cinnamon Roll for breakfast.
We knew we couldn't visit for the first time and leave with just a BLT and original, so we ordered an Apple Cobbler and a Bourbon Caramel.
D (my wife) raved and raved about the BLT, but the little chips that came with hers were addictive.
I love me a good cinnamon roll and I have to say, this is easily top 2 cinnamon roll I've ever had.
The dough is like what you expect, but a lot fluffier than any others that I've had before. It's like a cinnamon roll cake.
D said the Apple Cobbler is like an apple pie and cinnamon roll had a baby. That was all she said other than "mmm mmm mmm" so I think that was a good thing.
The picture of my Bourbon Caramel doesn't look exactly as it does when it comes hot off the press. It was later by the time I felt up to eating it, so it lost a little lust in the visual.
Long story short, everything was delicious and we will stopping by on future Columbia visits.
If I had to find a flaw with the experience, there were a lot of tables that came in after us (like 3 and 4 tickets after ours) that got their food before us. Many got cinnamon rolls and some got sandwiches or bagels, so it wasn't like they got things that would have been quicker to get out than ours.
Overall, I give it a very solid 4.5 Spurs Up
