Upcountry Provisions - Travelers Rest, SC

I've lived in or worked in Travelers Rest for about 95% of my life and have passed Upcountry Provisions 7,829 times, that facts, I added every single one up, but never stopped in.

Once a year, D will get up, go get breakfast, coffee, and go Christmas shopping on her own. Last year she decided to start in Travelers Rest and went to Upcountry Provisions for breakfast before starting her shopping adventure.

When she came home to tell me about her day, she went on and on about how delicious her breakfast was and that we'd have to go sometime.

Fast forward to now, and in the last year we've made up for lost time and go at least one Saturday morning a month.

After being called out on Twitter, and told that they expected to see me on Saturday, I was a little disappointed to open the door and the entire staff didn't yell GAMECOCK EATS!!!!!

The next section, I typed while sitting on the patio and D ate her sandwich. These were actual quotes, as they happened, and look into the world that I must live in.

"It's not fair to other sandwiches."

"Oh my gah, it's so good"

"I think it's so good because unlike every other place on the planet, they season their eggs. The bread is seasoned, the chutney is seasoned, and the eggs are seasoned." She turned into a food critic with that one.

"It's a flavor bomb in my face. Which is where I like my flavor bombs. That's just a little bit about me." Yes, this too was an actual quote made by my wife without knowing that I was typing her quotes in this thread. She just went a little weird there.

She usually gets the Paladin Frittata, but got the Center St sandwich. Which she said was basically the frittata on bread.

Me? Oh, I don't mess with a good thing. It's the Up Classic with no aioli for me. The bread is always just perfect, and like she said, everything is actually seasoned, which is hard to find at restaurants these days.

Oh, yeah I don't just get the Up Classic. I also get a Cinnamon Roll.

For those in Columbia, or read the review for Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli Upcountry's are nothing like theirs, but oh so wonderful in their own way. Where Devine is more of your traditional, fluffy cinnamon roll. Upcountry's are more like a warm delicious flaky croissant.

Just look at the amazing layers of crispy goodness.

It's like if a croissant, a doughnut, and a cinnamon roll had a 3way one night stand and had a baby.

If you're ever in the area, or take a day trip up to the mountains, definitely stop and give them a try. They're open for more than breakfast, but that's usually when we go because of how good it is.

We've never gotten anything that wasn't good, the staff is always great, so I can't give them anything but a 5 Spurs Up!
